SS-31 (Elamipretide) Protocol

Updated 1w ago 4 min read 248+ helpful Calculator

Overview

SS-31 (elamipretide) binds cardiolipin on the inner mitochondrial membrane to improve energy production efficiency. It’s one of the most-studied mitochondrial peptides in clinical research.

Preparation

Reconstitute a 10 mg vial with 1 mL of bacteriostatic water (BAC) for a 10 mg/mL concentration. The concentrated dilution keeps full doses in a single insulin syringe.

PeriodDoseUnits (@ 10 mg/mL)Frequency
Weeks 1–25 mg (5,000 mcg)50 units (0.50 mL)1x/day
Weeks 3–810 mg (10,000 mcg)100 units (1.00 mL)1x/day

Cycle

8–12 week cycles. Start at 5 mg for the first two weeks, then hold at 10 mg — the dose used in most clinical protocols. Advanced runs go to 15–20 mg split across two injections.
